Chef Louis Anjos leads the restaurant of the new Clubhouse at Palmares Resort

Lisbon, 5th of January of 2021. Louis Anjos is the chef leading the restaurant’s kitchen at the newly opened Clubhouse at the Palmares Ocean Living & Golf resort, in Lagos.

Accompanied by sous-chef Ricardo Luz, Louis Anjos has worked since last October on the design of the Palmares Clubhouse menu, inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, with a strong local expression and some international notes.

Alda Filipe, Commercial Director for Kronos Homes, explains the choice: “We want the Palmares Ocean Living & Golf Clubhouse to become a reference in this area of the Algarve and, in particular, in Lagos. A meeting and socializing hub, not only for property owners and golfers, but for all those who visit Palmares. Providing a unique gastronomic experience, in a setting that respects and maximizes the proximity to the ocean, the natural surroundings and the culture of the region. We already had one of the best locations in the Algarve and have developed an exceptional Clubhouse in Portugal. Now, we have the best Chef to manage it!”.

For chef Louis Anjos, the challenge was irrefutable: “A place as special as this one calls for a reference cuisine. I believe that my passion for roots and experience in projects in the south of the country will be an asset for the success of the resort. We are very much looking forward to the next steps”.

With panoramic sea views, the Clubhouse at the Palmares Ocean Living & Golf resort was designed by the RCR Arquitectes studio, distinguished with the 2017 Pritzker Prize, the most prestigious international architecture award. The Clubhouse restaurant, already in full operation, offers Mediterranean cuisine, with full meals, but also lighter options and a tapas concept to enjoy with friends. The restaurant currently has a capacity for 76 indoor seats and 26 outdoor seats. In the spring of 2021, a second restaurant will be opened, with a fine dining aspect.

Born in Minde, Alcanena, Louis Anjos began his journey at the School of Hospitality in Fátima, where he graduated in June 2000. His professional career in the restaurant industry began in several restaurants in the region of Leiria, before a change of course to hotels in the south of the country. Throughout his career he has visited renowned resorts and restaurants in the Algarve, including Bon Bon, in Carvoeiro, which recently renewed a Michelin star.

Internationally, he collaborated at the prestigious Viajante restaurant (holder of a Michelin star), in London, and at Martin Bersategui restaurant (holder of three Michelin stars), in San Sebastian, in the north of Spain.
